On my usual Sunday grocery shopping excursion this week, I was headed to our local grocery store (I always try to shop locally). While I was driving, my mother-in-law’s voice kept popping into my head saying “ I save so much money shopping for groceries at the Super Center National Big Box Store,” along with the bombardment of commercials touting “Save Money, Live Better” and the average person saves money by shopping at their Super Center – sooooo, I decided I would drive by my local grocery store that has served me so well over the years and save money by shopping at the Super Center. The results: I spent about 20% more on the same items I buy every week. I WAS AMAZED – How could that happen?

Eggs and bread were about the only things I found that were cheaper. Dog Food was a dollar more, store brand soup was fifty cents a can more. Everything I normally buy cost MORE MONEY. After pondering this finding, I began to realize that the mindset of older Americans and other shoppers trying to save some money in this tough economy is this: if eggs and bread are substantially less expensive, everything in the store must be cheaper and we must be saving money! SHOPPERS BEWARE! This is not the case!

As business owners, our “Big Box” competitors are always touting money-saving deals, but buyer beware, this isn’t always the case when you shop locally you get the service, customer appreciation and expertise you deserve. Recently, a customer called and asked us if we could hang a television on the wall at his son’s house. His son had purchased an LCD television at a “Big Box” store without giving us a call first. That’s okay, his dad is a good customer and we agreed that we would get a television mount and hang it before the Superbowl. We hung the television, ran the cables in the wall and hooked up his small stereo system to run his tv and dvd audio for him. In the end, the young man had a $90.00 HDMI cable that he could take back to the “Big Box” store for a refund. He saved the proverbial boatload of money on the installation by using us and not the “Big Box” store. You see, the “Big Box” store made the sale on the TV at a low price (we would have been competitive) but they GET YOU with the accessories and installation making you believe you have saved money and gotten a “Good Deal” - much like the cheaper eggs and bread at the Super Center.

The moral of the blog – Shop Locally! You Will Be Surprised at the Savings, Expertise and Customer Service you will receive. Just because the eggs and bread are cheaper at the Super Center, doesn’t mean you are getting an “All Around Good Deal.”

Originally Written and Published at: www.imageaudioonline.com/blog

Since 1973 when I started in the audio business I have never seen a wireless speaker that worked well enough to consider if fit for human consumption… Most use the AM band for transmitting the signal to the receiving speakers. AM is just like the AM radio in your car and you know how great that sounds (Ha-Ha) and how it drifts in and out. The better way was FM but it is limited in transmission power and was more $$$ for it to work correctly. The better unit’s works on 802.11 technologies… you know… like your Wi-Fi internet in the home. Unfortunately the speakers cost well over $1000.00 each and you needed two of them to get the left and right stereo channels.

The thing that always bothered me was that you still need to “Plug In” the speaker to an AC outlet for it to work. So I guess we have not found the way to move AC current wirelessly yet! Maybe that comes in the future.

Anyway…. I have finally found the “perfect” wireless speaker for Home, Office or Commercial use!. It works on the 2.4 GHz technology (like your cordless phone) except this speaker system searches for the open channels and jumps around to avoid interference from other devices that use the same technology. It is weather proof, receives a signal from the sending device up to 350 feet away, has awesome sound with its 8” woofer and 4 high frequency drivers and 100 watts of power, has a built in light (so you do not kick it in the pool in the dark), will run your iPod from the speakers built in control center that lights up for night use (with the attached signal sending device that comes with the speaker.. that is also an iPod Dock), and the best part…

IT WILL RUN ON THE ENCLOSED BATTERY FOR 10 HOURS!…so it will go ANYWHERE!!!!

I have seen it work! I am convinced that we now have a true High Fidelity, great sounding, well built in-door or out-door speaker that really works! It is great for the patio, the yard, the boat dock, the deck, the garage, office or store entrance, outdoor dining area or really anywhere, and I do mean anywhere you want music. Outcast is great and it comes with a 2 year warranty as well…

So if you’re looking for tunes everywhere… it is OUTCAST… see it here: http://www.soundcastsystems.com/products/speakers/outcast

Don’t take it from me… this is what Gil had to say about his new OutCast Speaker System…

The Outcast is awesome!!! It delivers rich, clear sound wherever we place it!!! It is so simple my 4 year old understands how to operate it!! I am very satisfied with the performance of this unit. We have tried other wireless options in the past only to be very disappointed…the Outcast does not disappoint in any way!!! It is easy to move around and set up. If this would have been available when we were having our house built I never would have spent money on wiring sound to different rooms, this is much more flexible and easier to use!!! We have our entire home sound system connected to the unit and can now enjoy awesome sound anywhere we want!!

Thanks so much,

Gil
